Learning with the NEC and aged between 16-18, discounted course?

Hiya!
I'm about to go into year 13 to start my A-Levels. Last year I took critical thinking as an AS and really enjoyed it even though the course was only an hour a week! I'd like to carry this on next year but my school don't offer it as an A2 and neither do surrounding places.
I was looking at doing it as a distance learning one with the NEC, the course would cost £180.
I have had a look around and found a page which says ' If you are between 16 and 18, on low income, NEC has a limited number of scholarships which will cover half your fees plus an extra £20 to cover the cost of your study materials. '

I am 17 - and earn around 5k a year, however I still live with my parents who earn a decent wage each so would they just count my personal income, or would they count that of my parents' as well?
I plan to call them asap, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas?
Thanks!! :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
probably stand a better chance of getting one if it's not on here for thousands of people to see still never mind.

    from the website

'Anyone enrolling on an NEC course through One Parent Families will get an automatic discount of 10% off any course. NEC will also donate £10 to One Parent Families.
If you are between 16 and 18, on low income, NEC has a limited number of scholarships which will cover half your fees plus an extra £20 to cover the cost of your study materials.'

no way to tell if it means your parents on a low income or you, ring them maybe to find out or email!

    Also some NEC stuff here

Doesn't sound as if you'd be likely to qualify for help and, quite honestly, you'll be much better concentrating on getting really excellent grades in your proper A levels. If you're interested in the subject for its own sake you can do some independent reading on it.
