cahoot '1 year bond'

When is a one year bond not a one year bond? Apparently when its from Cahoot. I applied last week for this bond and I've just been told the information pack is being sent, which then requires 2 address ID's. By the time this is completed, say 1 week, the date will be 15 August. I then noticed the samll print which said the rate reverted to their standard lower rate on 16 July 2009. Hence the question:- when is a 1 year bond not a 1 year bond? Is this intentionally deception, or just mis-selling? This is the Abbey National. Should I be surprised? I'm off to Kaupthing Edge!
