Lloyds TSB new account

On Wednesday i went into my local Lloyds to open a new bank account. I stressed that I wanted a basic account, nothing with a cheque book or overdraft. The chap was great and very helpful, and opened it there and then for me. I received my new debit card today, and it is a Visa debit card, have they got it wrong and opened me a proper full current account instead of a basic account? If so, will they close it as soon as they realise I wont pass the credit score? or is the Visa Debit card standard issue with the basic account? Very confused! I havent had anything else from them yet, only opened the account on Wednesday
Many thanks

Yes LTSB 'cash account' comes with a 2 in 1 Visa Debit Card. No worries.0

If it is the Cash Account debit card, remember that you'll only be able to use it at Post Offices, Lloyds TSB cashpoints or for cashback at supermarkets.
If it doesn't have the Link logo on the back, that's the one you've got.0 -

My Lloyds TSB Visa Debit Card doesn't have a Link Logo on the back, however can be used everywhere (Under 19's account). I do beleave that the basic account allows withdrawals only from TSB and Post Office though.0 -
Hi
It doesnt have the link logo on the back. I guess that means I can only use it for cash at Lloys cashpoints.
Thanks0 -
Yes, you can only withdraw money from LSTB cashpoints and the Post Office, however, you can still use it to make purchases online (as a Visa), purchases in shops & cashback.
But it won't be a cheque guarantee card (obviously) :-)

Banks not providing CG featured debit cards on purpose - regardless of customer - is a daft practice. And retailers are then much more exposed to the risk young customer writing dishonoured cheques and the embarrassment of frustrated 'mature' customers unable to write any cheque when the individual customer either shouldn't have been given a chequebook in the first place or should have been given a CG automatically card with any chequebook issued......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
