Hi all
Dad has just got himself a laptop and a HDMI DIGIHOME (Tesco own) TV (he is using the TV to show the laptop screen) and has set it up and it is working ok BUT part of the screen is missing on the right and left I have looked at changing some of the screen settings (resolution) on the computer but the screen is still not fully showing?
The TV will only show the HDMI in 16:9 is there a way that Vista will alow us to change the settings to match?
Thanks for reading and help
Niki

Try changing the resolution of the monitor?
I doubt the dimensions of the monitor will be 16:9, possible 16:10, but I think that may get the picture better.0 -
Due to the way binary maths works, you can never get a full screen using a PC.
I expect the resolution of the TV is 1366x768. This is a resolution PCs can't handle and instead do 1360x768 so you end up with a little bit down the side that's black but you should still end up with a virtually full screen.0 -

I have to apologise for Conor, he appears to have started drinking early tonight.
I must have one of those new fangled non-binary PCs that can do 1366*768.
On that screen, click advanced, then go to the monitor tab. UNcheck the box that says "hide modes that this monitor cannot display".
Go back to the screen pictured above and you should be sorted.
Edit: it'll probably look different in Vista, but it'll be there somewhere. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Try a program called powerstrip. Assuming you haven't got an Intel chipset, you can set your own resolutions, adjust overscan and frequency etc.0
