Zebra, just a quickie-- If you have applied for A&L have you got available an existing account holder who you can name as introducer to claim the bonuses of £50 each?
If not I will happily let you use my account number & also send you half of my bonus:- your total £75.

Thanks for that DD. I hold a Premier Plus a/c which is now called Premier Direct. I have just been on the phone to A&L and in their often strange way fobbed both my questions off.
Q1 was that as my a/c opened in 2004 how long is the guarnteed 5% to be paid? Originally it was to 12/2005!!!! I was told that it now runs to 2006 but I will have to double check this . (Have done! 2005 applies, time to move it seems & open new Prem Direct)
Q2 was where is the policy document for my travel ins Answer We can't discuss insurance-- ring Fortis. Rang Fortis to be told they were taking over from Zurich as underwriters,
& also they had no record of my policy!! Asked me to phone Zurich.
Zurich could find no trace either & had to call me back after some deep verification search !!!! Your policy exists but has not been recorded, You will have to contact Fortis on the 20th Nov when they should have details for renewal!!! MY CONFIDENCE IS SOMEWHAT DENTED I MUST SAY.
None of the various people I spoke to were aware that as you point out trav ins appears to have been dropped. Makes one wonder dosn't it.

Yep you are quite correct, the trav ins is now only available on lower interest a/c. However it remains part of the deal for older accounts, which again won't be paying 5%

Hi.
I've just been on the Lloyds TSB website to sign up for a new account in order to get the £50 bonus. However, it asked me about whether or not I have any other accounts. I do have 2 other accounts with HSBC and natwest, which I do not intend to close, so should I declare the details? Will they expect me to close these account in order for me to get the bonus? Will this look suspicious?
Thanks!0 -
All banks ask this. It is worth giving a truthful answer as this information is available from your credit files and they can check. AFAIK, Lloyds TSB don't insist in swithching account, but they do insist in switching your salary to them:£50 offer terms and conditions
Agree to, and make, a regular salary credit of at least £1,000 a month through our Account Transfer Unit into your new current account; then we will make a payment of £50 into that account within 31 days of receiving the first agreed regular credit of at least £1,000. To be eligible for the £50 you must make your first regular salary payment of £1,000 or more within 2 months of your account being opened.0 -
Hi.
I don't really want to switch my salary over to them, but will i still be eligible for the bonus if I transferred £1000 from my primary account into the Lloyds account every month?
Thank You!0 -

Hi,
I have a new Lloyds acc & enquired on the phone as to when the bonus would be paid explaining that I would be paying in the required min £1k a month & not a salary transfer as I am self employed.
The very helpful young lady explained that they were somewhat relaxed about this condition since they realised that many potential applicants could be either self employed or even retired. So as long as you pay in the £1k a month it seems there will be no problems. (Hopefully!!!)0
