how do you download a clip off YouTube? and are you actually allowed to.

There's a couple of clips that i'd somehow like to get on my iPod if possible.

I'm not very technical so please make suggestions quite basic - thanks

    Follow the instructions here:

There's no need to use any additional software or convert anything. You can download videos in mp4 format directly from Youtube.

Best is http://www.zamzar.com, it converts to whatever format you need.

I use youtube Sucker, perfect for downloading clips, then I use FLV convert to convert the files to any format applicable.

The links are v. helpful, but they don't actually say whether you are allowed to download stuff? Can anyone clarify?

    Thanks

Is it the type of thing that people are being prosecuted for? There was a woman recently prosecuted for sharing music files.

If I download a music video from Youtube will I be targeted by my service provider for one of those nasty letters warning of limiting my bandwidth and releasing my details to the music industry?

I would just like to know the risks before doing so. Thanks
