in Techie Stuff
at the top of most programs, you get a menu bar with File... Edit ...View etc
Is there supposed to be the same in Word ? I thought there was and have been searching to get it back.
I want to save a word document and I can click on the icon to save ...and it will save with the same name and back to where it came from.....but am not able to click "File - save as" and save it with a new name to a different location.
If I right click on the bar in word at the top... and go down to customize...the menu bar is ticked...and it wont untick. It must be a permanent feature...but it doesnt show at the top.
anyone know how to get the menu bar back ?

Which version of Office as 2007 comes with the new "ribbon" toolbar?0
-
If your using Office 2007, click the Office logo (left to the save icon) and Save As is there.0
-
View > Toolbars > Standard (make sure it's got a tick next to it)
Hope that works for ya!0 -

Hi,
did a bit of searching and found this:
Okay, you can replace the file, view etc on your menu bar... back into word.
Firstly goto: View > Toolbars > Customise
Scroll down the list of toolbars and make sure MenuBar is there and ticked. (This is the bar where file, edit, view etc live. Not usually able to disable it.)
Anyway now go to Commands > Built in Menus (bottom of list).
In the right hand pane you will see the File, edit, view etc.. commands you wish to restore back to MenuBar. Highlight the one you want and drag it up onto the MenuBar itself. And Hey presto it should be back. Do this as often as you like for as many commands as you like.
You would need to right click to get to customise first, good luck.0 -
ok, I can get to the options but I cant get the menus File > Edit > View > Tools to appear in Word.
