A&L RAF time limit

On 23rd July, I requested A&L to send me a RAF voucher for a friend who had just applied for a Premier Current Account.
The voucher was received on the 28th July. One of the T&Cs states that the voucher must be returned by 30th July. As the application and receipt of voucher were so close to the voucher expiry date it was impossible for me to return it in time. Also, I was on holiday for a week from the 28th.
Any ideas ?

I would ring A&L and explain the situation to them, it is a bit much to send out a bvoucher with only 2 days left to use it, it could have been delayed in the post or anything!

I phoned this morning and was told quite categorically that I have to meet all criteria. I asked for a 'manager' and am still waiting for a call-back.Dagobert0

You don't say whether you've returned the form or not. I'd have returned the form (perhaps dated 30th or so), with a covering letter* expressing disappointment at the tight timescale and asking that they look favourably on it.
As an aside, I thought they were fully electronic these days?...obviously not. Makes sense though, because not everyone (especially those going for the Premier Current Account) has internet access.
* I've successfully done this (a couple of years ago mind) when referring people with accounts more than 8 weeks old. Something along the lines of "I thought he'd sent the form, and he thought I had" did the trick!

I was about to post the form to-day. (I returned from my holiday yesterday.) When I noticed the expiry date, I decided to phone and clarify the issue first hoping to get a recording of a favourable reply.
Me too. But they have obviously wisened up to this.YorkshireBoy wrote:I've successfully done this (a couple of years ago mind) when referring people with accounts more than 8 weeks old.Dagobert0 -

It doesn't seem to have much scope for a complaint as the rules are clear cut. They might be "unfair" for those who apply towards teh end of the voucher expiry date but they are clear.YorkshireBoy wrote: »Official complaint?
I have another RAF complaint which I have taken to the Ombudsman, so far to no avail.Dagobert0
