Also posted this one under Phones - but thought this was particularly useful to small businesses and charities - Hope this helps people out there !
People will probably know about TPS (Telephone Preference Service) and BT/Privacy. Registration is meant to stop you receiving 'junk' and 'cold' sales calls.... But if you run a business and make 'cold calls' - did you know you are potentially liable for £5000 fine, if you call a TPS registered number?
There are various services that will check (for a fee ££) to see if a number is permitted to be called. But if you want to make FREE checks - I found this website https://www.checkmyleads.co.uk, registration is FREE and it seams to be accurate.
Hope this helps other small business owners out there ....
