I might not want to put myself about a bit... i am not that sort of guy
nah, just stay here then.... and we've seen Mrs74, why would you want to put it about a bit!?Burlesque_Babe wrote: »had a letter shoved through the door from the water people. I thought there was a lot of water on the road next to one ofthe numerous trenches on my road the gas people are working on. Seems they hit a pipe and a load of rust particles have been disturbed so for 3 days next week they are going to flush the mains.
It says I shouldn't use the washing machine whilst they are doing it as the rust particles will permanently stain clothing, loss of pressure, it isn't harmful to drink but if it doesn't taste good they will put a stand pipe up for drinking water (deep joy) and after it's done, there may be a taste and smell of chlorine in the water - for a week. It also says I may want to store some water in containers before they start.
I may have to go out and batter the individual from the gas board who hit the pipe with the drill/spade/other hard implement he hit it with.....
It's like an obstacle course on my road, they've really spread themselves along it - and across it with piles of stones, ducting, plant machinery, trenches and barriers. I had to do a nifty manoeuvure between a mini digger and a big pile of rubble to get up the road this lunchtime and it was completely blocked in one direction this morning! Good job it's such a quiet road.
sounds like a water rates rebate may be on the cards... plus some compensation!
The water in scotland is free.... or i suppose you pay for it in your council tax or something... homes don't pay rates but businesses do.....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

YOU WERE MISSED!!
How was Europe?
Did you do any running?
Did you meet any nice men?
Aww thanks Maz! I missed you all too, did get online but only briefly.
Europe was very hot, had a great time but did a bit too much travelling, very tiring.. saw lots of places I want to go back to though.
Running....errr...... :rotfl:Lots of walking and sure I've gained muscles from lugging my rucksack about. I watched a professional cycle race as well, does that count?
Men.. there were a few nice ones and the odd flirty waiter etc!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
