My guy has been given an Iomega 250mb USB-powered Zip Drive.
Great stuff!.... but what is it?
Any clues would be appreciated.

It is in fact like a portable floppy drive but instead of being able to store a tiny 1.44MB of data on to the disk, you can store 250MB of data. It's also portable.

Hi Mr Skint
Thanks for that.
The next question is:
Is it worth much?
We have just had a terrible time with cat flu - we have loads of moggies (had a cat flap fitted - big mistake!!! even so we love 'em all) and with visits and treatment at the vets - the two dogs have been in need of treatment as well - we are on our uppers - so anything which can put something back in the "kitty"!!! will be a break.
Thanks in anticipation.

I've got the older version, circa 1999 nads.
Do you think it's only for desktop pc's?
Or is that another of my stupid questions?

Its just basically like this, if it works for an older PC it should be compatible
with a newer PC, and as long as you have the correct connections
on PC and drive, so if its USB stick it in a USB slot on the PC0 -
I'd have thought the advent of cheap usb flash drives and CD burners would have killed off these (I haven't used mine in an age). But a search on ebay show they're selling at between £10 - £35 depending upon whether they're new or not and how many disks are included....
