Richard Morgan’s new novel The Steel Remains is set to be a landmark in modern fantasy. Here’s your chance to be a part of its future success. And to win an all expenses paid weekend trip to Glasgow, with two nights, accommodation in the exclusive One Devonshire Gardens Hotel. And to have lunch with Richard Morgan! We’re looking for someone to draw a map of the world described in The Steel Remains (The Yhelteth Dominions and their surroundings). Entries will be judged by Richard. The person whose map is the closest approximation will win the hotel break and their entry will form the basis for the map that we include in the mass market paperback edition of The Steel Remains to be published in 2009. The map, artworked by professional artist Dave Senior, will be credited to the competition winner; ‘Based on the original map by Your Name’

Prize

Two nights in One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow (plus flights/rail tickets within the UK only) and lunch with Richard Morgan. Prize does not include travel insurance, transport to/from the airport/train station or any incidentals accrued at the hotel.
In addition the map chosen as the winner will form the basis for an artworked map by Dave Senior that will appear in the mass market paperback edition of The Steel Remains to be published in 2009, credited to the winner; ‘Based on the original map by XX’
Terms and conditions

By entering the prize draw, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:
  1. Competition closing date is 8 December 2008 and is open to UK residents only.
  2. Entries will be judged by Richard Morgan and the winner will be the person who Richard feels has drawn the closest approximation.
  3. No cash alternative to the prize will be available.
  4. This competition is not open to employees of The Orion Publishing Group, any associated Hachette company or their relatives.
  5. Only one entry will be accepted per person.
  6. Proof of entering is not proof of receipt of entry.
  7. If an entrant is under the age of 13 they must confirm that they have the permission of a parent or guardian to enter a competition.
  8. No responsibility can be accepted for lost or misplaced entries and incomplete entries will be disregarded.
  9. The winner will be notified by email within 14 days of the closing date.
  10. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. A list of prize-winners can be requested from Orion Website Competitions, Marketing Department, Orion Publishing Group, 5 Upper St Martin's Lane, London WC2H 9EA. Please give the title of the competition and send a stamped addressed envelope. No entries should be sent to this address.
