    nj my car is old and nakerd it keeps dying but i keep bringing it back to life lol..

    Don't ignore the 1.8 Veccy, little less power than the 2, but a bit more economical. Mine's done over 130k miles, and gets around 50mpg on motorways. Still much more comfortable and easier to drive than my work's brand new clio pool car! Just make sure the timing belt's not over 4 years or 40k miles old.

    my 4litre 32v Jag does about 19mpg, so avoid one of them, the wifes bog standard vectra 2litre diesel does a good 40mpg, so we pretend both cars do 30mpg and it doesn't seem so bad.

    ive got a focus tdi which does 60 mpg on the motorway.
    i get my new golf tdi next monday. that does a bit less at 57/58 mpg.
    i wouldnt have a 2.0 16v petrol, of any make, given to me.
    Get some gorm.
