Hi there!
Just looking to get your thoughts on a quote I have had to have my central heating done. Old ancient 'Baxi' back boiler to come out, piping etc to be replaced. Local tradesman, said he was looking at Vokera Compact high efficiency boiler. This includes three radiators (just standard, nothing fancy).
I live in an upper 4 in a block, with 3 bedrooms getting radiators. (towel radiator already in bathroom, not getting rad in livingroom or kitchen)
Is this a good boiler, and do you think this is a good quote?
Thanks

Good evening: I don't know if the price is reasonable for your part of the UK (there are a couple of Scottish CORGIs who post on here and could give you a good idea) but I'd avoid the Vokera Compact as it has only Band B efficiency rating and ,TBO, Vokera isn't the first boiler manufacturer that springs to mind when talking about quality boilers.;)

Thanks for the reply!
Having been looking at the other central heating quotes, I see that other boilers come recommended. From the name, you can guess that I am in the Glasgow area so any locals please post!! (If you want to quote me please PM lol)
Half the problem is getting people out to quote!!
I think I looked up prices for this boiler on Internet and was coming out at £550 approx. Do you have the cost for the better boilers (worcester was one I think) Can't remember the others?Sealed pot challenge - 5610 -
Good morning: My OH installs Vaillant and Viessmann (5 year parts and labour warranty/10 years on the stainless steel heat exchanger if installed by a Viessmann trained installer)... the Vaillant Eco Tec 831 and Viessmann Vitodens 200 would be suitable combi boilers for your property. Many installers also recommend the CDi range from WB but the OH does not like the aluminium heat exchanger used by WB. Although my OH doesn't buy from this site the prices are generally representative. I suspect your Vokera price was plus a standard flue and VAT. You pay more for quality products.;)
I believe MSEr 'Gartshore' is based in Glasgow...you could send him a PM.

I live in London, in a 3 bed house and have been quoted £2800 for un upgrade of my old Baxi Back boiler to a combi Worcester - Bosch 25si. New pipes will be fitted, removal of old water cylinder and boiler will be installed where the water cylinder is. Plus water tanks in the loft will be drained and removed if possible (due to size of access) and a power flush, duration of work is due to take around 3 days. Is this is a fair price? so far have got 4 quotes British Gas quoted me £4700 and the others around £3000. Plus am being offered 2 year free service after installation .0

Not sure if you qualify with living in Scotland but no harm in applying is there..
