Please can you suggest which jobs would be suitable for me?

This is a bit specific, but what about becoming a business manager for a charitable organisation, or even a school?
Reading your summary made me think of our business manager at the school I work at...0 -
I think it will all depend on whether you are willing to study and get the revelent qualifications or not as to possible careers. One career that sprang to my mind was quantity surveyor, although for this you will need to study either part time or full time, but either way you will. Same with mortgage advisors and project managers (unless you can find a back door route in quickly).
Also what sort of level of money do you require to be paid? Or are you flexible?0 -
Thanks MORPH3US, that's a good point - other people have done it so why not? Just got to find the good idea like you said!
Thanks Murray, you've set me thinking there. I really enjoy comparing prices/quality before buying so procurement sounds good. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it led to 'strategic sourcing' too which looks interesting - does anyone know what a job in that would involve?
Thanks indiegirl, am definitely considering charitable organisations. May I ask what tasks the business manager at your school has?
Thanks lush walrus, I would certainly consider studying for further qualifications but after plenty of study up to now I really want to get a paid job. Will be living in London with my wife and we want to get on the property ladder as soon as we can afford it, looking at 17k plus.
I really really appreciate all the help everyone's giving on this thread!!! :A0 -
charity fundraising needn't be so hard, you might find a local one which wants someone to draw up funding applications for them. Working out what you're going to spend the money on is part of the role, then you often have to submit a report afterwards saying exactly what you did spend the money on.
You might want to avoid charities which do a large amount of fundraising through events, like charity balls and summer fairs and sponsored thises and thats. Very hard work!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks Savvy_Sue, I do like the sound of working out what to do with money that's been raised - hadn't thought about that aspect.0
