I need to buy a new tv also, I am concerned that if I buy one of these ones under £200 that in a couple of years they will be obsolite(cant spell!) I would rather spend more now than have to replace it in 2 years time. how ever I am not very genned up on the latest gadgets etc. would be grateful if anyone can tell me that way to go here. we do not live in an area that can get this digital system yet0

Was interested to see this, as my neanderthal tv does this since shifting here a couple of years ago. Reception is patchy and tetchy anyway, besides which I'm not a huge watcher. I'll keep reading your thread for advice, although I wouldn't want a large screen.

I ended up getting a 28inc FLAT widescreen Hitachi from Tesco (in-store) for £164.00. I saw cheaper of course but not this make and not with a FLAT screen which I have always fancied. My tv repair man, who came to tune everything back in for me so that daughter still gets SKY upstairs(free) thought it a great bargain. Then at the w/e I saw the same tv in Costco for £100 more! -result!
Funny thing is tho, although its widescreen some words etc still "fall off" the screen. I wonder why that happens? The other day I was puzzling over why it said "loud sequence" above the weather then realised it should have been Cloud sequence, lol.

The Nationwide Visa card gives you an extended warantee: 1 addtional year so when you buy your TV if you use this card you will get an extra year warantee, so if you paid ay John Lewis the warantee is 6 years.
JL do free delivery and installation, but for price Asda and Tesco are hard to beat.Seth.0 -

Hi just looked at the wharfdale in argos, looks a bargain. But im still stumpped as to wether these cheap tv's are digital or not. I don't want to buy a tv that will be no good in a couple of years. Please can someone tell me are these cheap telly's digital? ty0

You can go digital if you buy a freeview box for around £30-40. Analogue TVs won't suddenly become obsolete - the aerial connection will though..0
