Could your ex boyfriend not apply for a credit card and you could transfer the balance to his card? (or if he's got a credit card already?) Then it'd be ex-boyfriend and ex-debt

he cant apply for a credit card because he's in so much debt his credit is to bad.0

Would it be worthwhile getting him to sign an independently witnessed document that confirms the debt is his and that he will do his duty and pay it back (within a reasonable time period).
Good luck.0 -
as the debt is on a card in your name you are responsible. also i beleive balance transfers can only be done on accounts in your name (not 100% sure tho)
in terms of a lower apr card, what is your current interest rate. Have you tried other student cards whose APR may be less, Barclaycard do a student deal and may not require proof of earnings as you are a student0 -
