BT Transfers between partners - is this poss?

Hi

I have seen ppl refer to taking out a card and transferring partners balance etc - is this possible?

For instance can my husband take out a card to transfer a balance from my credit card - we live at same address, have same surname and have joint bank account.

Is this done? would be helpful if so?

Some do. Some don't. It's best to contact the card provider and get their official stance before putting anything through.

You can switch credit card balances to family, friends or Dave down the pub.
Please bear in mind though, the person whose card the balance is shifted to, becomes soley liable for the debt.

From the lender's perspective, it's not a problem. If he requests the transfer by phone, Customer Services may ask him for the name on the card, but this is purely an additional verification check. At the end of the day, the card company is after his business. They're not really interested in knowing who ran up the debt, as long as he, their customer, pays up on time each month!
