Long Wait for receiving Homebuyers Report/Survey ??

Options
Just wondering what people feel is an average time for receipt of the report after survey. My survey was done on Thursday 20th October, and as at today's date of 31st October, I still not have received it. I contacted the surveyors today who said that I will not receive it until Wednesday 2nd November at the earliest - 13 days after the survey !!
Is this excessive ??

Not really. I've waited much longer than this. It all depends on how busy the surveyor has been & how many reports are waiting to be typed up. Sometimes it helps if you can get the mortgage lender to chase them up. I once complained to Halifax about the really long delay in receiving my Homebuyer's report & was told they would chase it up & also look into my complaint & possibly remove said surveyor from the panel they used.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

It took me when buying my flat 8 days to get survey done and valuaton report back and mortgage offer sent out but it has taken 7 weeks for my buyers to get done. In the end I phoned his bank manager direct and asked them what they were playing at. Just got sorted. You have to keep chasing them .
    I love this site
  • If you put the pressure on, you can get it in less than a week. When I phoned up to engage the surveyor, I made it clear that I wanted the survey and report done quickly. The surveyor viewed the property within 3 working days and gave me an oral report that afternoon. The written report followed within another 3-4 working days.
  • I got it within 3 days....

I got mine in 3 days too. A copy was emailed as well. You can ask the surveyor over the phone if there are any major concerns with the property, for your peace of mind.

I have been waiting 18 days from the day the cheque cleared (10th October) until the 28th just to get the survey done!!!!! EVERYTHING is waiting for them...the surveys and searches etc. from solicitor have been back WEEKS!!! The sellers are desperate to move and so am I.

As you can imagine I've been having kittens about it (still am actually!!!).

The biggest problem being that the girl who is the main point of contact for me at the mortgage broker WILL NOT give any kind of straight answer about anything!!! Today I actually went behind her back and phoned a different bloke for reassurance and feel a LOT better now.

Just hang on in there...phone and pester as much as you dare and keep repeating to yourself "Everything is happening perfectly!!!"

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
