Capital one question

I apologise if I am posting an old question,but have had a look and cant find a suitable answer.

just purchased some Euros using my Capital one card and have been charged a cash advance charge...........is this correct,as I thought I was just making a purchase..............

    Fraid so my good friend - credit card companies treat buying foreign money (that included Euros) as cash advaces (they of course are) Also wath out for same rules when buying gift vouchers and mobile top ups etc.

    thanks friend,just phoned them and they say I will be charged interest on the whole of my outststanding balance too(both Currency purchase and other buys).........

    looks like paying it off now then.................!!!!!!
