Walkers Brit trips - what a pile of......

So, I've collected all the points off crisps, now I want to use them for days out for the family. So thorpe park, let's have some 1/2 price tickets for my family, my 2 girls and friend. Easy? NO! All vouchers are in the name of the account holder and every 18+ must have a voucher in their own name. What brain-dead person came up with that idea. I'll allow that you might want to put a person's name on a voucher, although since tesco vouchers don't and all the 2for1 vouchers don't I can't actually see WHY you need to.

But, anyone not a moron might realise that a family might collect points in one account and get vouchers as a family and families do not stop at 18. If you want a name then, DOH!, ask for it when the voucher is printed. That's what I expected to happen. It is the only sensible thing to do after all.

Anyway, my tips.

1. If you get caught like this then phone Walkers on 0800 274 777 and complain. They tell me I will get my 20 points refunded (I'm not going to thorpe, I'm at work!).

2. I think if you change the account name then print a voucher that might work. You can change the name on the account so I presume that would change the name when th evoucher is printed. Just keep doing that for each person.

3. If that doesn't work then create new accounts for all family members and phone Walkers on the 0800 number. They can swap points between accounts then you can print vouchers.

UPDATE:

I've got my 20 points back, changed the account name and re-applied for a thorpe park voucher. The name change works :-). The new voucher has the new name. Account name seems to change instantly so just change account name and print out vouchers for each family member is the work-around (for Walker's stupid web site).

I think you can change personal details of account hold as many times as you like. SO all you need to do is change the name.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!
  • yes ... just change your "account details" ..... i got 100s of points during the "clitch" with the free points.. i have been giving tickets to lots of friends and family. :)

    Glad you got it sorted!

I'm really having trouble finding somewhere that I can spend my Brit Trip points - just looked again as I'm traveling to a different part of the country and surprise surprise, yet again there are no pubs in the area that take the point vouchers.

i can not find any walkers crisps with the brit trips on. All packets only mention the new flavour thing.

Have they all gone now off the shelves?

if you have an account you can still use any points you have until end of December . just got a few more vouchers for Nostell Priory - Xscape / Alton Towers.

One thing to watch though is with booking Holidays with Haven and Butlins.
The Brit Trips will take you to a special HavenBritTrips or ButlinsBritTrips website - where you book in a similar way.

The saving is only over the prices quoted in the brochure - not the current price if you use the Haven Or Butlins own online booking websites.
In most cases it was cheaper to use the "official" site rather than the walkers site . and the only one I could find which was cheaper was Marton Mere / Haven at Blackpool .

Think I was lucky with this one for once.

The pub just across the road is the only one in my area taking the vouchers for 2 for 1 lunches. And very nice they are too!!

I have just booked a holiday at Butlins Skegness and as you can see I got the promotional price and saved another £28.56 through Walkers Brit Trips, not bad considering I scavanged the crisp packets (I'm a barmaid).

    Holiday cost breakdown:
    Brochure price £476.00
    Web Daily Special £-10.00
    Walkers Promotion £-28.56
    Midweek Offer £-190.40
    Total holiday cost : £247.04

    FiFi :)
