Scart confusion

It's a common misconception, but the material it is made of makes absolutely no difference. It's the same with HDMI cables, the £1 and the £119 cables give exactly the same quality. Not near, exactly the same.0

The cheaper scart cables do the same job as the more expensive ones which is deliver the picture to the tv or whatever job the scart cable doesNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

SCART cables transfer analogue signals, so better quality cables will make a difference.0

Not quite the same. HDMI cables carry digital signals, so they either work or they don't. Scart signals are analogue so, depending on the source equipment and your TV, there may be some merit in buying a more expensive lead. It's as much to do with the insulation as the material that conductors are made out of.0 -
Until they get (readily) tarnished / oxidised.
Sorry, but as a pedant, I couldn't let that pass!
Quite so, I was thinking that as I typed it!It's a common misconception, but the material it is made of makes absolutely no difference. It's the same with HDMI cables, the £1 and the £119 cables give exactly the same quality. Not near, exactly the same.
As has been pointed out, scart cables are not digital so the comparison is moot. We used to get interference whenever we used bargain-basement scart leads, and there was an audible high-pitched whine. Clearly there comes a point when you're just throwing money away, but I don't think that point is £1.99 from Tescos.0
