Equifax Confusion - Help !

I have a good credit history.
I moved address a little over a year ago. Updated the electoral register etc. About 6 months ago I applied for a Capital One c/c for the cashback but was refused. Checked the threads here, ok they were picky. But to be on the safe side, I got an Experian report and everything was as it should be. So Capital One didn't want me - fine.
A month ago I took it into my head to check Equifax too. Did the £2 paper one. They wanted ID - sent - got report - absolutely blank.
Rang them. They said the address wasn't per electoral register ( The House. Thing vs The House, Thing Farm ) so they found me and 'linked' the addresses.
Got my 'revised' report today. They 'have no data for me at my current address' either the 'right' or 'wrong' one, and no electoral register entry. They do however have the Capital One search.
Under my previous address ( more than a year old ) that have my electoral information , a Capital One search and one current credit card with Mbna listed.
Nothing under either address for my mortgage, my main credit card, savings account checks ( you know the money-laundering thing ),old credit cards now cancelled, British gas checks, mobile phone checks, internet providers checks etc etc. So seriously incomplete.
As I said I ordered one on Experian 6 months ago, and everything was on there, old and current, including current electoral register entry.
Now, what do I say to Equifax ? Bearing in mind last time I rang them (blank report) they weren't that interested, I perservered, they 'found' me and said ''we'll send you a new one''. Essentially I'm saying their information is seriously incomplete, but when I said this last time (blank report) they just said ''get in touch with the lenders or whoever, if they don't supply us the information there's nothing we can do''. But surely that's not up to me ? plus I have a sneaking suspicion it's the Equifax end that's 'missing' information supplied, not the lender's end.
Left as it is - I can only apply for products that use Experian ( which is complete ) and don't use Equifax ( like Capital One ) - how am I meant to know who uses who ?

Interesting point, I was going to say try the terms and conditions, but having checked through a couple just now, I can't find anyone owning up to which service they use
Try ringing them and slipping it into casual conversation

It sounds as though the discrepancy involving your house name was the problem.
The fact that you were not on the electoral roll (as far as Equifax was concerned) was the reason ID was requested. This would normally be checked electronically.
If I were you, I'd pay particular attention to the way your details are recorded on the electoral register. An extra line may be inserted/omitted, for instance, when a house name is involved. Then notify Equifax.
When you apply for credit facilities, ensure your address matches the details as they appear on the electoral register and you should be fine

Not all lenders send information to every credit reference agency so it may be best to check with the relevant lenders (where the information is missing from Equifax) to see if they do send information to Equifax?0

I thought that was also the problem. So when I telephoned them, they 'found' me on the electoral register hence identifying the discrepancy - but the 'revised' report, which shows both versions of the address ie linked addresses still doesn't show me as being on the register and also has no financial information.0 -

I knew there might be gaps between the reports ie each lender didn't report to both equifax and experian. But there's about 90% missing from equifax !! That's not a gap - it's a black hole ! I mean a mortgage is a pretty big piece of a financial picture.0
