Can you balance transfer from a partner?

Or can it only be between your own accounts?
I'm trying to take advantage of some 0% deals before they expire. My partner has a TSB card. Does anyone know if he can directly transfer debt from my card (MBNA). Or failing that can he transfer the money into his current account so we can pay off my balance that way?
Any advice gratefully received.

You can balance transfer from any card as long as it is not the same provider.
e.g. if your partner has a debit balance of say £1000 you can transfer that debt to your 0% card leaving (him?) with a debt free card and you lumbered with the £1000 debt. Be aware that you will then be held responsible for that debt and also that there will be a balance trasfer fee charge by the vast majority of card providers.0 -
I have had to do this for my partner - he owes 4.6k on 2 cards and I got a Virgin 0% on BT for 15 months with a limit of 1k, I was quite happy with this as even though its not enough to transfer it all at least he can only transfer £900 at a time, pay it off and then transfer another lot. It makes me feel alot more at ease that Im not going to be in 4.6k if we split.xXx0
