I always scared of Finance deals. I will have a quick Squizz at the dealers site and see what they have available but I couldnt do 30% deposit.0

Yeah it's good stuff and very MSE to try and get cheap credit...... but maybe like you say you're tying to bite off more than you can chew if you're new to this?! If you;ve 5K available on your current card I can't see you getting a further 15K in 0% CC credit, unless of course you're a pretty massive earner (which you might be). That'd mean 21K on credit cards? Quite a lotOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0

Good deal that, loads of car manufacturers are doing that at the moment. Shame about the 30% deposit though eh!
Yeah 30% is a bit of a bummer! Saying that though - Vauxhalls arent that pricey compared to other cars I dont think. Its just whatever floats ya boat i suppose
In my case, the Vauxhall didnt, I went for an Audi! xXx0 -
Another thing to watch out for is most car dealers won't accept more than £1-2k on a credit card, otherwise they charge you a % on top.
So you might be stuck anyways.0 -

Thats fair enough, what car are you planning on getting cuz I'll just explain my deal a min to give you a clearer picture:
Audi A3 2.0i FSI Sport 05plate
Deposit - £3000
36 monthly payments @ £181.65 = £6539.40
At the end of 36 months I have a 'balloon figure' of £6000.
With that £6000 I can either pay that off and the car is mine OR I can use the £6000 to put on another car and then either finance again or put money towards it and buy it outright (this is what i will do)
Finance deals are much cheaper than loans.xXx0 -
I am so pleased with the responce to this post, cheers everyone its really helped.
I am going to give the 'tarting' a miss and look at personal loans and perhaps lifetime balance transfers if they go up to £10-15k and try to keep the interest as low as poss. Any tips on these from you financially sound lot would be great...
Good choice with the Audi!0 -
Thanks Stacie,
I didnt like the finance offer I got a while back because I would lease the car for a few years then I get the option to buy it (the baloon amount) or swap it in. The monthly payments were cheaper but not when I added the baloon sum.
I want a one series and just checked the finance section but dont really understand it. I will speak to the chap there but think I will go for a personal loan or similar.0 -

Sounds like you got a good deal on that audi..... especially on an 05 one... Is it with their finance, cos it looks like most car manufacturers do things like that now - the guaranteed trade in price at the end type thing.
lol @ looking at a vauxhall but going for the audi.....
I want a corsa but I'll probably get a alfa romeo mito :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

Thanks, yes thats with Audi finance, I guess they know that people are being alot more careful with money so if they can guarentee a price it puts people at ease. seriously get a Corsa! I sold my corsa and I am forever regretting it! I love them - I would get another but its just not practical anymore
and they offer 0% finance so def def def go for a corsa!! xXx0 -

But having this balloon amount means that you'll always have the money there to put as a deposit on another one (if thats what you want) and you dont have to worry about selling the car - thats a nightmare at the min. You can only what you can afford to do at the time. I sold my BMW 2 weeks ago as it was an absolute nightmare - it was getting old and therefore becoming expensive (i dont want to sound like im telling you what to do just speaking from experience) a bmw is ok for the first few years but i can tell you know - you'll have trouble selling it and if it goes wrong it wont be cheapxXx0
