That's a very interesting strategy. I was under the impression that tourists could only cross between North and South if they returned the same day, and that locals could not cross at all. When did things ease up? How relaxed are they now about crossing?
The border opened in 2003, No real restrictions.we cross quite easily, many TC's work in the South and many GC's come over for holidays and casinos, an increasing number of tourists fly into Larnaca, hire a car and drive across.
Because of the high price of housing in the south a few GC's are buying here and commuting across the border for work.(The south has decent wages and we have low cost housing).
