Can't download attachments from yahoo mail

in Techie Stuff
using IE7 and Vista. Can no longer seem to download any attachments from Yahoo mail. I click on the attachment, then open/ save dialogue box comes up, which ever I choose the next scanned by Norton comes up but there is only a 'cancel' button, the 'download' button seems to have disappeared. Well it has dissappeared!
the PC has recently installed a new Java update.
I have looked thru all the Active X contraols to see if there is anything there, but I cant find anything untorward... have run AVG scan, CCleaner, spybot..etc

A friend of mine was also having problems, he change to Google mail and all is fine with Googlemail.
