Hi, I had a maliciuos attack on my computer of spyware etc, it took me 6 hours but I managed to sort it out, however while it was going on Internet Explorer disabled 'add ons' and now I don't know how to get them to work again. Some of my websites no longer load properly and I believe it must be due to the lack of these add ons, any ideas please

Try Tools, Manage Add-ons. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I use opera but my other half wants to stick with IE coz of all his favourites etc and we can't get the pages to load, also on opera sometimes when I buy stuff the checkouts won't load so I have to use IE for those sites. I've tried Mozilla Firefox but hated it and it made my computer crash, dunno what to do re these add ons.

When you install Firefox, it will import all of your favourites automatically for you. For the odd strange site that needs IE, there is an excellent plug-in called IEtab. I just can't understand why anyone uses the inferior IE myself. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
though that essentially runs IE in firefox, wouldn't IE still have the addons disallowed in its settings, and thus still not display them? For the odd strange site that needs IE, there is an excellent plug-in called IEtab. I just can't understand why anyone uses the inferior IE myself.0 -

IEtab uses the IE rendering engine but obviously it will not display any IE options in the Firefox tab. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I don't know about inferior as I've only tried opera and to be honest I find IE much simpler, all these other browsers seem too busy for my liking and I like simplicity

I'm more concerned about the speed, security and versatility offered by Firefox over IE. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
