Apple - getting a refund

Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes....
I ordered a refurbed ipod nano for my daughter (she had one before - really good - it's now mine!). Anyway, a couple of days later a package arrived. Unfortunately it wasn't an ipod, but a case for an i-phone. The packing note said ipod and I have been charged for an ipod. i called Apple customer service and they couldn't be more apologetic - said I could keep the case, but I would need to re-order the ipod as it was a refurbed model????. A refund would be made to my card within 3 - 5 days. 3 weeks later and I am still waiting. As for keeping the case, they sent a courier to collect it (not bothered but had to wait in for courier). I have sent e-mails, called many times and all I get is 'it's being processed'.
I am now considering going through my credit card compnay and raising a chargeback for good not received - do you think this is the right way to go, or does anyone have a contact e-mail at Apple (other than the generic customer service one) that I could contact.
Thanks

Hi
From my own experience I know that the card companies like to reject claims on the basis that you took too long to inform them. Please make sure you send the details of the claim in writing to your card issuer within 30 days of the transaction to be safe!
I know this is ridiculous because often you won't be aware of the problem for more than 30 days, or you will spend longer attempting to resolve it with the merchant, but I have a letter from Barclaycard stating that though my claim is valid they refuse to refund me because I took too long to contact them! :mad:0 -
Thanks for the advice - I didn't know there was a time limit - obviously you need to advise them asap, but I would guess if you did this as soon as you noticed, they would probably advise you to contact the supplier first

you have contacted the supplie and been told its been "processed" which means to them when we have finsihed yacking in the office and messing around we might get ourasses into gear
just get onto the card company and raise a dispute that you havent received the goods concerned0 -
I did just that - after receiving another brush off e-mail. Amex are quite happy to deal. I've had to fax them copies of e-mails I've sent to Apple, but hopefully I should see some action now0
