I had exactly the same thing, more or less. How the heck could I remember what I did 12 years ago? Gave what answers I could with the caveat that I simply couldn't recall accurately.

It'll be alright - you owed money, not your life ;)
  • It'll be fine. I just said general living costs and they accepted that fine. She was going to put on the letters to creditors that the money was essential living costs. I told her that 2 years ago I had quite a few flights on there at a couple of hundred quid a go visiting family abroad and I said at the time I thought I could pay it off but found I couldn't and she didn't question it all. She asked if I thought that I had lived beyond my means. I admitted yes probably but don't we all and she was fine with that too. I think as long as you are honest with them it will be fine. If you don't know what you spent the money on then they will accept that.

Another question I was asked was what caused you to go BR in my case was husband's business declining so we weren't earning as much and also cost of living shooting up. I had to say why we got into debt. We refinanced and refinanced and used the credit cards for groceries and stuff.

Some great advice I was given on here is don't waffle - there will be silences whilst they take notes but don't worry. Only answer the question asked there is no need to offer extra information unless asked.

Hope it all goes well for you. Let us know how you get on. I was petrified before mine and it really wasn't that bad. It was all over in 26 minutes.

    Hi. :)

Have to second the advice given so far really.

If you were struggling when you used the money for "living expenses" then I would make sure that you stress that you were doing so to "keep your head above water" or that you were trying to "bridge a gap" in your finances. An awful lot of us here have been there and done that, and for one reason or another found that it didn't work in the end.

However, the examiners see people daily that can say the same as you, so don't be too concerned.

my reason to go Br well at my previosu worjk they cut down gradually my hours from 35 hours to 18 hours . i was told that was temporary thne they cut i down further to 10 hours a week to which then i decided to leave or made to leave then the company closed down a month after i left .... i was then unemployed for 8 month and now i have a part ime job for around 16-18 hours per week not great but better than nothing ..

then my Oh went really depressed when his mother and father died which resulted in lot sickness absence form work someone was really tight to say the least

i hope that is ok to say that...

however i have an going issue my OH countersuing my ex-Landlord for theft fraud deception harassment and illegal eviction the theft realte to furniture belonging to me

if i had any money in return for the loss of item and etc will it go to the OR ? s
