    Hi $17mma,

Your thread got me thinking as I was only talking to the wife about property auctions last night. Anyway the Dr has signed me off sick for a fortnight (off topic - but just how cr*p is daytime TV??? I want to go back to work!), so I have done a quick bit of digging and here are the results so far:

List of auction sites (NB - some cost to join!)

    Some here

Looks good (I fancy the house in Dalston ;))

Hope the links work - I have rather a poor track record with them

I will take a good look on the site. Have you been to any of the auctions yet? have any experience?

Will let you know how I get on :T

    Hi,

I have to admit the only auction I have ever been to was held at a local church when I was seven (got my Millenium Falcon though ;)), so have no advice to give on property auctions I'm afraid.

Have a look here though for some general advice :) Hope that helps!

Is quite nice isn't it? Would be ideal for the wife and me (no kids, 1 cat), but as the auction's tomorrow I guess we're both out of luck, unless you have £140,000 sat in the bank ;)

    $17mma,
Have a look here they had some OK properties at their last auction and their next one is on 05 Dec.

BTW - I am assuming you are looking in the London/SE area or am I wayy off the mark?

sorry to rain on the party (voyeurism), while you can still find the odd bargain at auction most of the final prices are still high and have been so since the mid 1990s. there are plenty of buyers there whipped into a frenzy by low guide prices.

also beware of site offering lists of repossessed properties. if I had such a list why would I offer it? if I was smart enough to compile such a list, I would be smart enough to finance purchases.
