old style way to clean oven?
Comments

I use Oven Cleaner from Lakeland Plastic. It is fantastic and does not have that horrible chemical smell. I would definately recommend it

What is the best way to clean my oven? It hasnt been cleaned since I moved in two years ago.
Any old style remedies or should I just resort to chemicals?

Have a look at the sticky Mega Index thread - scroll down to oven and you will see plenty of tips there.
Get out the bi-carb and vinegar or lemon juice by the looks of things - and arm yourself with a scrubber!0 -
I find that the OH makes an excellent oven cleaner ... failing that I resort to one of those little wirery metal scourers for the metal shelvesEnjoying an MSE OS life0

Maybe you and MrBadExample should get together and do your own house cleaning thread - LOL!0 -
my last post did sound a bit bad
but i do think that these days people are ill/allergic to most things because everything is oversanitised. a little bit of dirt does no harm.
i can hear the shrieks now - no - i'm not lazy or dirty - but i'm healthy - and i would like to think i'm quite bright - i have a degree and a PhD - both worthless nowlong story
maybe me and MrBAdExample would get on - but i do have standards
Cheers

No way did your post sound bad, I just thought it fun and laddish - sorry in advance for any sexism here. However, totally agree with you on oversanitisation, bit of dirt does no harm at all.0 -

Hope you took that as a compliment then G!
Back to original topic though..........
When cleaning oven doors (I have inner and outer ones), I lay newspapers on floor underneath to catch all the drips to save recleaning the floor.0
