Poll started 31 October 2005: Canny Caller or Moustachioed Mug? Have you been sucked in by the 70s hairstyles and tracksuits or are you wise to the web? How much do you pay to call directory enquiries?
a. I have no idea, I just call that number they advertise on TV
b. Nothing, zilch, nada. I use the web to get free DQs
c. I use the number my phone provider gives
d. I use the cheapest provider (as listed here of course)

Erm..... Any pole that gives the choices..... A) I'm clever.....I'm a mug..... Is unlikely to give anything other than an inaccurate picture.

I recently did a course on understanding dyslexia, as I am dyslexic, where they adviced us to apply for a card from BT. This card enables me to call 195 free of charge. I get to speak to a real person. I think this service is available to anyone who can't use the telephone directory. The form was signed by the tutor.
I have found it really usefully, didn't know of it's existance until than. Throught it might help some other moneysavers out there.my money mantra "what would Martin say?"0 -
Never use DQ.
In the case of a business, either look them up on Yell.com, or if away from a computer, call someone who knows and ask them :T
In the case of an individual, ring someone that knows them, and ask for their number. :T0 -

As I'm disabled I can get the card from BT too - all I needed was for my GP to sign the form. Alternatively, like many others I use the free online service.
