help neeeded with headset

i have a headset, when i try to use them i can hear through them but people cant hear me,

this may be dumb, but i have speakers connected in the back of the computer, and i just plugged my headset in the front of the computer,

did i need to unplug my speakers in the back for the headset to work?

getting annoyed with it now, because my son wants to speak on msn to his mates

So this is a USB headset? if so Go to use it in messenger by starting
and audio coversation and you dhould be prompted to calibrate the headset.

Go into Sound and Audio in the Control Panel, select the Voice tab, select Test Hardware......at the bottom and that will bring up the tuning wizard that you need.

In the windows sound preferences I think you have to enable the mic in a checkbox, then mute it so you dont hear it through your headphones.

There is also a mic boost checkbox, I enable this too for better speech through teamspeak whilst gaming.
