Ok we have here the V5 form and have no idea which bit to send where..the yellow part is for transfer to the dealer so we keep that as we have bought this car not sold it? The change of address we have to do has to be signed for but the boxes at the bottom already have 2 peoples signatures in?

The dealer should have dealt with all of that, you should not have been given the full V5, go back to the dealer and let them sort it.

Keep section 10 and fill in section 6 with you details, then send section 6 off to the DVLA

Thanks..scbk we can fill out section 6 BUT we can't sign for it as both boxes are signed?! I have just rung DVLA, the dealer has stamped the garage name in section 10 where we are supposed to be so again pain in the bum! she told me to tipex it out and fill in our details then attatch it to form V62 and send off to get a new log book..

So long as all your details are correct in section 6 then tbh it doesn't matter who's sigs are at the bottom

It doesn't really matter who signs the bottom, but you are Ok to tippex it and sign it if you want.

    Don't do this - they'll loose it and you'll have to pay £25 for a replacement V5.

Providing you have the green slip and are a new keeper you will not be charged £25. However, I would still just send it off yourself as you know it'll be done quicker.
