Barclaycard £70 card protection rip-off

I've had the same problem, being passed between Barclaycard and CPP. They have finally today agreed that they would remove the late payment charges and the interest on the £29 I owed which is a little bit of progress.
I've also got the contact number for the applications department (08457 660758), and they should be able to confirm whether or not I actually requested the card protection payment in the first place.....0 -

Trying again:
I spoke to Barclaycard this morning. They've been chasing me for payment of a £60 balance (the CPP plus late charges plus interest since JULY - I had no idea about it) by phone, by text, all hours of the day and night, and I got sick of it. I told them I knew nothing about this card protection, that my balance has been at £0 since January, and I have cut up the card and assumed that was that. I've spoken to CPP and they've agreed to 'put a hold' on the policy, but Barclaycard won't stop the late payment and interest charges mounting up.
So now I have spent half my Sunday on the phone to these people, and will have to write to them about it. My fault for not checking my statements, I guess, but with £0 balance card, I didn't see the point. I just binned them every month. Word to the wise, if you pay off the card, cancel it. I will be making sure I do that in future!
I have no idea if I'm going to get this resolved...knowing my luck, I probably won't.0 -
Unfortunately even if you had cancelled the card, the amount will have still came out. As its an agreement with CPP, simply cancelling the card isn't enough to prevent the amount going out, the agreement would still need terminating with CPP.
Student.

Please help.
Barclaycard CPP have been taking money from my account since 2007 and i didn't know about it till 2009 when i called and asked them to cancel the policy which i was told would happen. Today i found they had taken money again so i called and was told that i had ticked some box when i applied for mu credit card and that i cant now cancel as its after the 14 days since they took my money and that a complaint has been raised and someone will call me in 5 working days. Im furious and worried at the same time as they clearly ignore my requests to cancel, am i stuck paying this money for nothing every year forever?????
What can i do? Please help im so frustrated and worried0
