fitting a shower wont switch on . help !

here goes,

the previous tennant in the house removed the shower on leaving the house. wire were hanging out of wall. switch outside bathroom. all looked in tact .

well we have bought a shower and have fitted it but its not working . the light on the shower switch outside the bathroom does not come on.

i have checked everything , cant see anywhere in the fuse cupboard to put a new fuse in for the shower button.

any one have any ideas? think i am going to have to get a electrion out. but thought i would ask on here for advice first.

    the only way is to try to trace the wiring back from the shower / light and see where is goes...

    The fuse box for the shower might be in another place from the main fuse box? It might be just beside it or it could be further along the run of cable.

    Or the former occupants might have disconnected the cable at the fusebox end? They probably ought not to have removed this fixture.

    agreed. there is every chance that another fuse box/isolater is fitted somewhere.
    Get some gorm.

    When you look in the consumer unit (fuse board) it should be easy to identify which is the shower cable. It will be one of the biggest, the only other cables of that size will be the cooker cable if you have one.
    If its not there there it will be in a seperate fuse board which will be close to the meter most likely
