I am due to renew my buildings and contents and by following Martins guide I have found the cheapest quote for my B&C insurance. The company is R K Shipman. Has anyone had dealings with this company??? Any reviews would be greatfully received.

Hi there

Their entry on the FSA Register says "Able to hold and control client money only in respect of non-investment insurance contracts". I find this quite strange when their own website seems to concentrate on financial advice. Even on the home insurance part of their site, they use a logo that says "Your investments in safe hands".

I would be concerned that they may not be registered correctly for the business that they do and I have logged this with the FSA.

Their website also shows that this firm are linked to a company called Iprism Underwriting Agency; a company that are listed with the FSA Register as "unable to hold client money". This agency are also linked to "click2compare.co.uk"

The words "pole", "barge", "touch", "with", "a", "I", "not", "them" and "would" spring to mind.

Once again, just to cover myself, I am giving my own personal opinion here. I am not connected with any of the firms listed in this post.
