in Credit cards
Hi,
I applied for a HSBC credit card and they turned me down but at least they had the balls to say they didnt want me and it wasnt due to my credit files they said
"To help us assess your application we consulted a licensed credit refernece agency. The information which they hold about you did not cause us to decline your application. Thank you for applying, we are sorry we cannot help this time."
Wonder what is was then lol, perhaps they dont like me lol

Well, you have to admire their candid approach, anyway. Let's hope to goodness it
catches on.

At least if more credit card companies gave you an indication , it would help - instead of just blaming Equifax/Experian!0

Sounds as though even though there was no adverse credit information against you you failed their own internal credit scoring.
It could be anything - the scorecards are very complex and in how they look at every piece of infomation. I wish that Experian and Equifax would comment that on their fee charging "credit scoring" applications.0 -
Yeah Im glad they were honest, wish more people would follow suit, it's nice to know it wasnt my credit file though.0

............But they would say that wouldn't they????
I would check your credit files just in case.0 -
What they would say "It's NOT your credit file" ? I just think they were honest in saying, it wasnt your credit file, we just dont want to give you on as you havnt met our critieria0

It could've been other things such as your age, income, time at address etc. Things that don't appear on your files.
Weird one that though matt, because normally they just blame the credit files!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
So, if they were going to turn you down anyway why did they consult the credit files?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Maybe their scoring was kind of close to the edge, but the credit file info wasn't to blame, but pushed it over the edge into NOOOOO??
Dunno
I think there should be total specific transparancy for reasons why companies refuse credit. If it's because i live in a !!!!! area, i want to know, if they think i'm indebted over my head I'd like to know!
Can't see that happening thoughOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0
