I have a broadband connection using an alcatel modem and we have three users on the PC. Whenever we change users (without logging off the original user) we lose the broadband connection and have to re-connect.
Obviously this is a nuisance if the original user is downloading something.
Any ideas how I can change users and stay online please.

Presumably this Alcatel 'modem' connects to the PC via USB, in which case the least expensive option would be to have everyone use the same user profile instead of their own. The ignominity of being forced to share the same desktop background aside, that would ensure that the connection is never broken.
The only other alternative I can think of is to replace the Alcatel unit with a more robust ADSL router, and let it handle the initial connection instead of the PC.0
