Old gas cooker climbing the stairway to heaven, so looking at a new cannon cooker but before commiting was wondering is anyone has/knows how to work out which fuel is cheapest to cook with... looking specifically at the cost differences between a gas and electric OVEN - quite happy to stay with gas hob.

Thoughts? Preferences??

Cheers All

Yeah, gas is cheaper, also food tastes much nicer cooked in a gas oven than an electric oven.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Gas is cheaper for the amount of energy it produces, If you switch to electric you need to make sure you have a electrical circuit for it, cookers take a lot of power so need large cables and normally run on thier own circuit.

Many people dont like electric cookers, because the heat does react to control adjustments very fast. If I had the choice I would get gas hob, with an electric fan oven.

We prefer the taste of the food gas ovens produce, so we go when we can for gas hob and gas oven. Electric ovens don't cook the food the same, just nowhere near as nice.

OK, there maybe people who find food cooked in electric ovens taste better, however we've yet to come across any.
