Coventry Building Society

Hi, I'm new here and it's proved to be a real money saver for me. Speaking of saving, I'd like to bring to Martin's attention something about Coventry Building Society. Martin states that the Over 60's savings account can be opened without the option of monthly deposits. I contacted them and they said they do NOT accept lump sums over £2000. As I had intended to put more than that in, I find now I cannot. Just thought I'd let you know.

A monthly deposit is not the same as a lump sum payment. Monthly deposits are usualy drip fed from another account.
Instead of paying in more than 2000 why not pay in 2000 every day (up to the limit you want to invest) instead to get round the daily limit?0 -
Officially the over-60's account has a limit of £2000 a month for deposits, but I don't think they check as I put in two deposits totalling more than £2000 this month without a problem (so far ;-p).0
