  • Well done, I started about two months ago. The only thing I can say is make sure you know where you are going and make sure that you check the shops to the left and right of the outlet. The rest will be on your sheet so go over it carefully.

From previous MSing, i'd say just treat it like any other occasion you'd go into the shop.

You'll be suprised how easily it all comes to you :)

    Hi

Am new to MSing but have done about 10 jobs now.

Remembering your evidence is really important (so you get paid) so this is usually a receipt, a business card, a photograph, the shops to the left and right, the name of the person you dealt with etc (not all of these normally!).

Read your brief thoroughly before you go, and memorise the scenario - decide what you're going to say before you get there. Then just try and note details like the outside of the shop, the inside of the store, how many customers were in the shop etc. Finally try and remember what was said and particularly remember anything positive about the experience (also negative).

It starts to become second nature after a while though, don't worry :D

That's nothing - I've been registered with GR for weeks and never had any hint of work! I think I must be in the wrong part of the country for them. There's nothing even in the 'Assignments no longer available' - so it's not just that I've missed them.

I'm registered with two agencies. RE and grassroots.

Done plenty of jobs for RE right from the off and I've usually got a pretty big list of availables (if anyone knows how to get rid of those pharmacy jobs from my list please tell me, they're starting to irritate me since I've already said I don't have a prescription and you need one for the job)

Grass Roots I was registered with for 2 or 3 months before a job was even offered and then had 5 or 6 in the last few weeks. It's a pretty small list from them but they seem to be getting more varied.

make sure you've read the job brief and questionnaire properly before you go! sounds so basic, but it's important :)

I usually write out a shopping list of things I need to buy (or check). Don't forget to wear your watch (times in, out, queuing etc) and the shops to the left and right (so often I forget to check and have to walk back!).

please be accurate in your reporting!! i work for a company that used to use retail eyes to shop us, and time and time again we got reports where a particular part of offered service had been filled out on a online report had not been offered - but the written comments had detailed that it had been offered.. please remember that this may be a easy way of getting money - inaccurate reporting may cause problems for staff giving decent customer service to you!!

Use the note facility on your phone to note any specific times etc if you need to - looks like you are just sending a text!
