Repair or replace?
I have a 2004 Peugeot 206 which needs considerable bodywork starting with a new bumper. The work would probably cost upwards of £2000. Maybe closer to £3000. Plus I have a periodic sticky brake problem which has not been resolved.
Would it be throwing good money after bad to get my car sorted? Or would I be better just putting it in part exchange?
Thanks
Chrissy

The brake problem should be easily sortable by a knowledgeable person I would imagine. I'd shop around for repairs and ask some places how much they would give you for it (but if it needs £2k of work I doubt you'd get much).
Then I guess it's only you who can weigh up the cost of a repair versus cost of getting rid and buying something else.0 -
I think if you are paying for the work yourself, you should be looking at scrapyard parts and backstreet bodyshops.
Ask your local taxis where they go for painting and body repairs. I bet you can cut your costs in half. Try to find more than one place so you can get a quote from both.
Who quoted you for the work?0
