I think that over the phone takes a similar amount of time as for a cheque to clear - 2 or 3 days.

I've always got cash out of the ATM at Tescos before I shop and then gone in store to top up at the customer service desk - then you can use your CC+ card instantly.

When you pay at the till it doesn't go into the chip and pin reader - you have to sign for it the old fashioned way. This occasionally confuses the till operators, and often they don't have a pen! :)

I know a couple of people have said can use clubcard plus for online order -but how do you do it? have a voucher code to use so trying to put an order through using clubcard plus info in card details at checkout stage but won't accept - could it be because I don't currently have credit on the card to the value of the order (didn't take the credit facility)?

    quick question people....

I'm hoping to load up our cc+ tomorrow with funds so I can use it for the first time.

How soon after loading up with funds (over the phone) can I use the card.
When it comes to paying at the till do I hand over the card or stick it in the chip and pin machine or what??

Hello Gemma - I wouldn't do anything over the 'phone. As old hands[y compris moi]will tell you - and now appears in Martin's well-revised Loyalty Cards article today - just w/d money from Mr T's hole-in-wall and bank it with cs as you go in.
Then shop - your money will be there.
Only possible exception, late Sunday or post-staffing hours on cs desks.
Beware, as many mgrs are being told to lose paid hours this way.

I always with draw from cash machine & put on card then check it on card, only takes a few mins but am sure it is on there before I shop. However, now converted some to direct debit as I always shop at tesco so easier, but put cash on if I need extra.

I called the number to sign up to Clubcard Plus and they are sending out a form. Is this the only way to sign up? No way to sign up over phone?

Hi, they told me this as well. I got my application through the post a couple of days ago. It took less than a week (I was expecting a very long wait for some reason!), so I was fairly impressed.

I get the impression that they try to make it as awkward as possible to apply/get the card, to dissuade people from the scheme!!

I'm sure it'll be through before you know it.

    Enjoy! :D
    Trying hard to money save....
  • Simply use Tesco's self-service scanners and enter any random number for 'own bags used' - voila, free clubcard points. It seems to work with no problems up to one bag per item bought. I heard of one person who got 150 points for a packet of chewing gum - it beeped and some nice employee just came over and hit override without even looking so he still go the points.

I want, nay demand, to see who can get the most free clubcard points with this method.

Not convinced this is a wise thing to do, Tesco obviously collect this data and know who's doing it by the clubcard used. Similar thing to abusing the coupons policy by the minority ruined it for me and others at my local Tescos.
