stick with it - my account is now all fixed, except the simpering apology, written explanation and confirmation of what information has been passed to the police, that I have demanded.
It is 10 working days exactly since it got stuffed up and today I got the letter confirming that the account had been rectified. (The account was actually fixed on Tuesday, as I checked my balance etc - I only sent the disclaimer form back last Friday.)
Should be fine by the time you go on holiday - just under 2 weeks to go right? Just check your pin number still works!0 -
Sorry to hear this! It must be horrible! Especially before a holiday. Lets hope it gets sorted in time.
If you call the head office and tell them that you have been through alot of destress and you would like to get this sorted asap in a UK call center etc.. The number I have is 02076261567. Their head office is in northampton so they should be english and know what they are doing.
Hope thats helps.
Good luck.0 -
I had a problem just last week with LoveFilm helping themselves to money from my account.
I phoned the Barclaycard Fraud line on 01604 254050 and they were extremely helpful. Might be worth a go...
I'd better keep my eye on mine then. Just had a free trial with them through a cashback website and cancelled it. Their payment would be due next week.0 -
I am absolutely astonished by these awful stories. How earth do these organisations get away with this despicable level of customer service?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

Presumably it's not typical. Forums like this will attract for the large part people who have had problems because they know people will be able to help them with them. You won't find many people who've never had a problem coming onto forums to tell everybody that everything is OK. That leads to a bias in the nature of posts.
On a similar theme, how many letters do you think local MPs and Councillors get saying "oh everything is fine, you don't need to do anything" compared to "something needs doing about this" letters?0 -
Well Day 6.
No dispute forms. Fraud aftercare....(After what ??? the nightmare is ongoing) are not open until 9-5 even though they are based in India and are hours ahead of us. God forbid that I might actually have a job to do that dosen't involve me phoning across the globe to get the help and assistance I need.
Perhaps this is the real reason my dispute forms haven't reached me. They're making their way through the Indian postal service before they go through royal mail ????
I'm trying to be patient by Barclaycards gross incompetence is staggering. Why won't they help me ?????0 -
I had 4k fraudulently spent on my card,it took them about a fortnight to sort it all out and everything was back to normal.I know it's a shock and an inconvenience but it will eventually get sorted.Once I sent back the dispute forms that was it,they sent a letter confirming they were looking into it and that was the last I heard about it.0

When I had this problem with someone taking out 1K of petrol on my card are the call centre's. Why base them in India... Yeah its cheaper. But its like the company want to give a bad customer service. Make you call india where they don't even know what the UK is like as they have never been here! But still they are going to ''help' you.
Grrr... we need to fight against the indian call centres! :mad:0 -

I believe you. I do realise it like everything else takes time and it will get sorted eventually.
I have also just spent 15 mins talking to Barclays head office who have put in a claim on my behalf for the amount of time I've lost chasing up the company to do their job along with the 40 odd phone calls I've had to make.
They've also admitted that their systems show that the Dispute forms were only sent yesterday even though their systems show the fraud was notified to them on Sunday. They've apologised on behalf of Barclaycard and confirmed that the matter will be dealt with by Head office and an investigation into the problems will commence. I've reminded them that I intended to use the card on holiday (1 and a bit weeks time away) and they have assured me that every available effort will be made to sort the problems before then.
I've been given names and contact numbers for individuals looking into the matter on my behalf. It seems as though things might actually get moving at last. I really hope this gets sorted soon. I hate carrying around this emotional baggage...yes I've let it get to me. Stupid I know.0 -

Of course, totally agree with you, but it still shows that the systems that these large organisations presumably have to deal with situations like these can fall apart in spectacular fashion and the huge toll this takes on people who are unlucky enough to be on the receiving end.
Hope you get it all sorted soon london-x. It's only natural it has got to you. What a horrible situation.
