Hi all

could anyone offer any advice please on a problem my friend has got. The end of may she purchased a brand new 08 ford KA. This soon developed a fault as the red light kept coming on. Ehen she took it back to the dealer they had it a coule of days and then said problem was fixed. It wasnt suprise suprise.

They then had it back for 2 weeks and said it was a faulty fuel pump and thats why the light was coming on. This was put on order and then supposedly fixed. At no time was she offered a curtesy car and had to rely on friends and family to run her to work ect.

Guess what, not fixed, so she took it in again last week and had it back yesterday, the garage saying its done, guess what still not fixed.

She brought a brand new car thinking that there would be no problems and has no faith left in the car whatsoever. She is still driving the car as the manager or whoever is responsible for sorting this out is not back until tomorrow. Could anyone please give some advice as what to do next. The garage she bought it from is a national chain and should really have sorted this problem out, they have had the car in the garage with the same problems longer than my friend had been driving it.

    Try another Ford garage.
  • Could you be a bit more specific on which light is coming on? Usually a red light is for oil, or brakes. If it's an orange light it's engine management related ;) If it's on finance I think she maybe able to reject the car if it's not of merchantable quality, i'm sure someone else who lives and breaths this sort of thing will let you know

I would write to Ford themselves lodging a formal complaint, nobody should have to suffer that kind of lack of service, even if it is a Ford.
