  • hello, quick catch up before jungle starts. sounds like we've had another busy day paying and saving.

big congrats to purpleposting4 for the BIG payment to her mum!

another little pound from me today. still, it's adding up and i'm in line for quidco whenever it appears in the account this month as well as some interest from my savings account, so will add both those when i know how much they are.

hope that other people vote david off on my behalf now, as i am too cheap to phone in!

have a good evening. x tomtombeanie

Hi guys, i spoke with O/H about doing this as i have gave up the nasty fags 16 days ago and always used the debit card to pay for them i never carry cash with me!
Anyhow i said to him i think it would be a good idea if every other day i pay £4.65 to a debt as thats what i would of spent on fags...he thinks i should not as we may be skint at the end of the month.
So i said ok what if i transfer £4.65 every other day to the internet savings account and at end of the month pay a debt extra with that saved money or if we needed it it would be in the savings account?

What do u guys think is the best it seems i am trying everything to pay things of quick and he says time will pay it of!!

To top it of he wants to drop of xmas gifts to his family which means £80 in petrol which i think should go on a bill as an extra payment as i wont be seeing my family i will post their gifts
am i being a bi*ch here or am i right??

£5 today for me to PAd account.

Have rejigged my finances around so now the majority of my overdraft has gone onto a credit card with only 1.9% APR which is much better than the 15.94% the overdraft is on. Have £122 left to pay of my O/d which I hope to do by the end of this month (PAD savings account/change jar and some smal savings I have) and will to tackle the money on my Halifax credit card which is £200 as its the next higher APR instead with effect from December.

Keep going everyone your doing so well:T

I think it's a great idea - if you were managing ok when you were smoking then you can manage now!

The credit card I'm aiming to pay off is interest free so I'm making my PAD into my e-savings to hopefully get a little interest gains on it (I know it wont be much, but every little helps) still paying of what I can for each bill that comes through with the aim of getting the balance on the CC to match the savings when i'll then pay it all off!

Make sure your paying off what ever had the highest interest rate, and if you can do some balance transfers to get 0% rates or low life of balance rates.

re the presents, I guess it all depends how much it costs to post them. Maybe he could arrange a halfway meet with family?

    Good luck xx

Well, pay day today. I managed to pay just under £2 above minimum towards my Cap1 card for the whole month. It would have been more but I miscalculated my monthly budget for November. December will be better.
  • Didn't get a chance to post yesterday and very late today, but better late than never. I've had a tough couple of days, I had started doing pad to try and pay off the loan I have a bit quicker, but have since discovered h has quite a bit more than I realised, so I'm taking over our finances asap. Off to get an account sorted out on friday and by then I should have a clearer picture of figures and interest rates, so will wait till then to decide where to put my pad money. But anyway for today and yesterday I have added £1.20 to my pot.
    Total Debt (27th Nov 08) £16,707.03 Now £5,102.72

    Morning all,
very excited as I'm now down to £418 on the damn Egg card, plus...payments are only showing to the 24th and my monthly payment has gone out today and I have just paid them £8.27! So in just a couple of days, tomorrow if I'm lucky it will show as being under £400_party_
Never ever believed I would find debt busting so addictive!
    Have a great day all.
