iPod touch help...

Ok, so i'm a little thick when it comes to technology!
I was thinking about getting an ipod touch for my birthday and was reading the specs.
I know it says it has wi-fi, so, does this mean I can go on the internet from my ipod?
If it does, is it unrestricted access e.g I can go on alllll sites, or is it limited to specific ones they have chosen?

Hi, yeah Wifi means you can use the internet in anywhere that has Wi-fi or so called 'wi fi hotspots'.

You can view all sites.

It means if you have a wireless router you can set it up to use it for the internet or you can use open wifi connections (hotspots etc) to go browsing and there are no blocked sites as its just a browser system built into it (Safari)

There's currently the 8/16 and 32gig version on there at up to 33% off retail price. Got to be worth it with full Apple warrenty. Better than eBay etc...

think of it, as a WIFI Receiver.

It can RECEIVE a wifi signal, which is transmitted from a wireless router.
you connect to this wifi transmitter as such, and then can browse the net.

if you are using a hotspot, such as a BT Openzone, these are chargeable
if you are at home, and are limited to 1gb a month, and you connect to your home wifi, you still are limited to this limit.

also, you can't browse websites made with "flash" as these are incompatible..

I think they mean special iPod Touch/iPhone formatted websites. A bit like how WAP websites were made for mobile phones.

aaah...

then the answer is no, not limited to ones they've chosen.. ... full tinternet, but with no flash support as yet though

(tbh, why apple would choose, i don't know, i think the question would be better phrased as, am i limited to websites specifically designed for the iPod Touch)
