Manners

Is a please and thank you too much for ebayers these days?!

I have a NARU with no feedback, unconfirmed address, sent his parcel before he was NARU, for all I know I could be getting a chargeback.

He sent me a message 'why has xxxxxx not come yet have you sent it' no please, no thank you nothing. He paid sunday night i posted monday.

Some people have no manners. I pity people who frequently use ebay!

Some sellers are rude, too. Just been sent the wrong item. Got very abrupt reply ' Send it back I'll refund the postage' That was it. Manners cost nothing, I agree, and ignorance is not limited to those who buy.

I agree, have edited my post I didnt mean it to sound that only buyers cause problems just my frustration at this particular one.;) Luckily all the sellers i have dealt with lately have been good, i buy more than I sell but i always seem to get rude buyers.
  • I do a bit of both selling and buying. My most recent buyers (6) have all been great but for one NPB. My most recent purchases (6) have included the above ignorance, a seller who increased postage after auction end and one who downright lied about the item I subsequently bought. All sorted now though :D

Maybe the stress levels and charges generated by eBay itself are causing a lot of people to behave out of character? Maybe I'm just being kind and the place is full of nutters, chancers and fools :D

There are plenty of nutters out there, they seem to come in batches, personally things will go swimmingly for a while, then you get a load of aggro all at once.

    Hi,

I always say Hi, please, thankyou and sorry if necessary. I try to write all emails as I would a letter and text speak is always outlawed. Text speak is awful and I am not an old fogey, I am 31.
    Loving the dtd thread. x

I'm afraid ebay has encouraged this sort of behaviour in the last year.

Before when ebay was just a venue, and management/marketing didn't try to encourage buyers to be rude, they were all very pleasant and never had a problem. This is a recent change in attitude.

Whilst I don't excuse rudeness from sellers, I would say you are partially correct. Sellers get bomabarded with messages these days and most of them quite abrupt, so you can have a tendancy to go in to rapid fire mode to rattle through them and the first few messages from buyers can set the reply tone for the rest.
